Driving from Merritt to Cache Creek via Hwy 97C | British Columbia Canada
This drive starts in Merritt BC Canada and ends in Cache Creek after 1 hour 30 minutes of driving time on July 6th, 2020.
Merritt is known as the "Country Music Capital of Canada" as it has hosted numerous country music legends at their yearly country music festival.
From Merritt, we drive along Highway 97C up and past Logan Lake and the Highland Valley Copper mine. The Highland Valley Copper mine is the largest open pit copper mine in Canada and owned by Teck Resources Limited. It is an amalgamation of three historic mining operations, Bethlehem (later Valley Copper), Lornex and Highmont. The Highland Valley Copper Mine consists of several large deep pits to expose low-grade copper and molybdenum bearing ore deposits. A large tailing pond is maintained to support these operations, with two containment embankments to retain the tailings from the environment.
The drive continues along Highway 97C to Ashcroft and shortly after passing Ashcroft, Highway 97C merges into the Trans-Canada Highway 1, which leads into Cache Creek after a few more miles of driving | Please Subscribe ➤ https://bit.ly/31hqyBO
